Matt started cutting meat for the Sirloin Saloon in Manchester and Burlington, VT. He studied at CIA and worked at some of the top restaurants in Naples, FL seasonally. During the off season in Florida he worked for the National Hotel on Block Island, RI. He did this for 5 years. He moved back to Vermont, a Bennington native. He was the chef de cuisine for the Barrow’s House in Dorset, VT. This is when we met. I was managing the front of the house for The Perfect Wife Restaurant. We fell in love and had our sweet baby girl, Basil.

I am a Buffalo, NY native. Grew up in the restaurant business with my Aunt & Uncle’s restaurant in Niagara Falls, NY. My mother owned a restaurant in Buffalo, NY through my high school years and I helped her nights and weekends until I moved away for college. Thought I would try to be a veterinarian but continued to work in restaurants along the way. I moved to Manchester, VT after 3 years of college. My passion is studying wine too. I had the privilege of attending Pinot Camp in Willamette Valley, OR. In 2011. I am studying to be a certified specialist in wine.

Food is in our blood and we love it! We look forward to serving you handcrafted delicious food.

Gringo Jacks Southwestern Bar and Grill has been bringing a wide and delicious variety of authentic Mexican, Tex-Mex, and Southwestern foods to Manchester for over 20 years, and we hope it’ll be at least 20 more! Ye Olde Tavern

Ye Olde Tavern Proprietors, Michael and Minna Brandt, welcome guests with the genteel hospitality of a bygone era. Upon arrival, the wide plank floors, roaring fireplaces, and antique furnishings recall 18^th century New England. Stenciling throughout the restaurant recreates patterns typical of itinerant painter, Mose Eaton, whose work can be found throughout the region.

Listed with the Vermont Register of Historic Places, the tavern building was first constructed in 1790 by Dorset Master Architect, Aaron Sheldon, as The Stagecoach Inn. It catered to the likes of Vermont’s famous Green Mountain Boys, as well as a cadre of statesmen and gentry who enjoying dining and socializing in elegant period simplicity.

Menu selections include regional dishes — Yankee Pot Roast and Lobster Bisque, for example — along with traditional continental favorites. You’ll find Prime Rib, Shrimp Scampi, and Chicken Picatta on the daily menu, plus vegetarian offerings, seasonal specials, and kid-friendly options. An excellent wine list and a carefully curated selection of vintage cocktails are always available.

A little about our history……The original Double Hex was established in the early 70s, by “Big” John and Lucy who were well known for their great burgers and welcoming hospitality. The name Double Hex refers to the two adjoining hexagonal structures that compose our home.

Chef owned and operated, Zoey’s Double Hex, was established in the spring of 2000, and has carried on Big John’s and Lucy’s tradition of warm hospitality and great food. We offer everything from over a dozen varieties of burgers, to roasted salmon, maple glazed chicken, mac and cheese, steak and much more.

With delicious food at great prices, we were so busy we had to expand in 2006. We have plenty of seating both indoors and during the warmer weather, outdoors as well, on our screened in deck where you can enjoy the fresh air, but the bugs can’t enjoy you. We also have an abundance of parking and a beautiful garden you will love.

The friendly service, delicious food and great value that were the hallmarks of the original Double Hex are still first and foremost at Zoey’s Double Hex. Come in tonight and see for yourself!

The Crooked Ram started as a humble, retail-only bottle shop in 2017. In a few short and wild years, we have grown into a full restaurant with three distinct experiences living together under one roof: The Cafe, The Dining Room and The Yard. The Dorset Inn Restaurant

The warm and welcoming ambiance of the Dorset Inn’s historic dining room, and the cozy New England tavern, near Manchester VT, allows guests to relax and enjoy the food, the wine, and the friendly Southern VT hospitality. As a member of Vermont Fresh Network, we support as many local farms and businesses as possible, and our food includes the freshest ingredients. Our cuisine is uncomplicated, and bistro-style. It demonstrates classic culinary techniques and traditions, with regional Southern Vermont influences. To showcase Vermont’s four unique seasons, the menu changes frequently.

Breakfast is served Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am – 10am. Certain days may be at The Dorset Bakery depending the time of year. Please check with the front desk for location.

Sunday Brunch is served from 11am – 2pm each week. The menu will feature entrees from our breakfast menu, along with weekly brunch specials.

Dinner is served nightly from 5pm – 8:30 pm. Suggested dress would be casual for outside dining & the tavern, and business casual in the Dining Room

The Restaurant at Hill Farm

A celebration of the seasons in Southern Vermont.

The Restaurant at Hill Farm, nestled in the Equinox Valley is a celebration of this time and place in Southern Vermont. Dinner is served in our beautiful, lofted barn with a wood-fired oven and sweeping views of the Taconic Mountain Range. Seasonal farm-to-table menus by Chef Austin Poulin are sourced from our own market garden, as well as from our neighboring food community. Our full bar features seasonal cocktails, Vermont beers on tap and a wine program that is committed to sustainable vineyards. The Restaurant offers table seating for small and large groups, as well as seating at our bar and our Chef’s Counter. Outdoor seating is also available, in season, on our wrap around deck.

Hill Farm supports our local food and craft producers by offering their goods in our Farmstand, which is in the Restaurant.

Dining: The Reluctant Panther Restaurant creates an intimate atmosphere offering the best of Southern Vermont’s local foods. We strive to showcase the best of what Vermont has to offer in a unique and exciting way. We believe in sustainability, working with our farmers, cheesemakers and producers to bring you a memorable experience. Under the direction of executive Chef Sigal Rocklin, the menu features innovative, farm-fresh classics that change with the seasons. The expansive list of fine wines, Vermont beers and specialty cocktails perfectly complements the decadent menu.

From the outdoor terrace to the cozy bar, the restaurant exudes an approachable sophistication that enables all of our guests to feel welcomed. The outdoor covered terrace is open seasonally offering Al Fresco dining with views over the gardens and Mount Equinox, the terrace is a picturesque venue for a casual dinner or drinks with friends.

Events: The Restaurant caters to events as large as 65 guests for a seated dinner. The Panther Pub, our private event space with two rooms and dedicated bar, is the perfect space for cocktails and holiday parties for up to 60 guests and seated dinners for up to 30 guests.

Chef Sigal Rocklin

Executive Chef Sigal Rocklin grew up in a small town in northern Israel. After finishing service in the Israeli Navy, Sigal came to the United States to travel. She began her kitchen career as a dishwasher but quickly realized she shared her father’s passion for cooking. This same passion led her to Vermont, where she attended the New England Culinary Institute. During her time at NECI, Sigal not only fell in love with Vermont, but her husband as well. Graduating at the top of her class, she continued her travels through the United States, working in numerous regions including California, South Carolina and Wyoming. Sigal worked in small private restaurants and bigger hotels like the Four Seasons and The Equinox Resort.

Once it was time to settle down, Sigal and her husband knew, without question, that Vermont was their first choice. The sense of community and abundance of local farms and purveyors was the main draw to Vermont, as Sigal remained focused on her culinary career. For Sigal, coming to the Reluctant Panther Inn and Restaurant felt like coming home. In 2017, Chef’s Lobster and Brie Fondue was awarded best tasting dish at the ‘Taste of Vermont’ event as well as being featured in the Small Luxury Hotel cookbook. Her passion for food grew as she created a strong farm-to-table kitchen through close relationships with local farmers, producers, and the team at the Reluctant Panther. For that, Sigal was awarded “Vermont Chef of the Year” in 2018.

The Publyk House

An American Tavern & Steak House

A History Still in the Making . . .

The Publyk House has been a destination restaurant and Bennington favorite for more than 45 years. Originally, the old horse barn stood not more than a mile away on Rice Lane before it was moved to its existing location. Soon after, it opened as Publyk House restaurant in 1972 by a group of local investors who had purchased the old three-story horse barn. The partners renovated the old barn into a restaurant to again serve fine food to hungry travelers from Zechariah’s hill. Serving traditional New England fare in a warm and inviting ambiance, the restaurant opened to rave reviews and remained a popular local haunt for locals.

Years later as The Publyk House once again, the red barn still exudes that same warmth and character as before with barn board paneling and multiple fireplaces. Steven & Lauren Bryant are the current owners of this long-time restaurant, as well as the renowned Dorset Inn and Barrows House Inn in Dorset, VT.

With a nod toward the past yet with an eye on the future, they have once again captured the essence of The Publyk House charm. Just one step into the lobby and you can feel the warmth of the brick hearth and smell the aroma of honey baked bread. The dinner menu includes some of the old-time favorites…Baked New England Cod, Blue Ox NY Strip, Slow Cooked Prime Rib and Herb Roasted Chicken. As always, diners are treated to our bountiful salad bar & fresh honey wheat bread loaf with whipped maple butter with their meal.

Southern Vermont Arts Center offers a new dining experience in curATE café. curATE comes to SVAC in partnership with Church Street Hospitality, known for their acclaimed establishments, Barrows House Inn & Restaurant, The Dorset Inn and Dorset Bakery.

curATE café brings a modern sensibility paired with classic and regional fare. Artfully curated small plates, salads, artisanal sandwiches, gourmet coffee beverages, and a full bar — all in the artful setting of SVAC’s galleries and grounds.

curATE will delight diners enjoying the museum’s art and beautiful grounds. The café will be the perfect spot for a special lunch or afternoon beverage – curate your own experience.

Located on Main Street, Lost Marble Brewing Company is Manchester’s first craft brewery.
